Mountainside History
Back in the early 1960s, a group of people got together for Tent Meetings and decided to start the church formerly known as Kingwood Assembly of God. An Assemblies of God on the mountains of Kingwood West [by God] Virginia.
The new congregation started meeting in a little tavern called the Evening Star which was adjacent to the property where the church building now stands. Sometime around 1964, with a borrowed mule and an old coal mining cart, with their bare hands, they dug a foundation out of the rock on the side of the mountain that had been mined out. Then they began laying block, framed and finished it out and finally capped it off with a tin roof.
The new structure was what is known in this area as a shotgun church. The first Pastor was: Reverend Ron Wahlrobe who met with 64 people in attendance. Through the years there have been many pastors with good years and lean years but for approximately 60 years they have served the community of Kingwood.
Now known as Mountainside Community Fellowship AG, our little church still serves this small town has and become the birthplace of other local ministries in the area and w are looking forward to the continued work of the Kingdom here on this mountain.

ORDAINED by the Assemblies of God
Pastor Russ is from Brooklyn, South Baltimore, Maryland. He cut his teeth on old church pews and was saved at a young age.
Called and Baptized in the Holy Ghost in his youth, Russ began leading worship at a little Full Gospel Pentecostal church circa 1978.
Throughout the years, Russ has served in many different ministries and several church plants and para church networks and Coffehouse Networks.
Russ has spent his lifetime in study of the WORD and holds a BA in Theology and Ministry as well as a plethora of Biblical Studies. He has studied Chemical Dependency Counseling at the prestigious CCBC-Dundalk CDMP.

Pastor Jenn
Kingwood Ladies Ministry
Jenn was born in South Baltimore [Brooklyn] Maryland but grew up in Joppatowne. While coming from a Jewish heritage, in her childhood she was Confirmed in the Catholic Church. In school, she had the advantages of Honor Roll Status.
Round about 2004, she was admonished to visit a little Holiness Church in Delaware by a pastor & coworker where she promptly got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost shortly thereafter. God waisted no time setting her feet on a new path to ministry a vision and a new family.
Jenn is now a Pastor's wife and a minister in her own right, a mother Home Schooling 2 children and is currently pursuing her AG credentials and a B.A. attending the ASCENT Bible College. She is also a Facilitator for Living Free ministry helping those with life controlling issues.
Wendy
Sunday School Superintendent
Wendy is a Published Poet and has served in her local church for many years in several capacities and now oversees our Sunday School Program.
She has authored a book [Reflections of Life] and is very creative. Married, with grown children and some grandchildren.
Wendy is a student at ASCENT College. She also teaches our Adult Sunday School Class and brings a very gentile spirit to the a room. She is also a Living Free Facilitator.
